If a picture is worth a thousand words, well then a song is worth a thousand pictures…. I’ll be traveling around the country with my guitar and my camera the next two months, and to communicate to you all what life is like on the road, I’ve decided to post one song a day (dare I make such a commitment?!) that correlates with my experience/mood/show on that particular day. At the end of the two months I’ll have compiled a little audio road journal! I’ll still post videos and pictures from the road like past tours, but I am assuming you’re all music fans if you’ve found this page, so I think this will be fun. Feel free to chime in and post your own road songs below! I have thousands of miles of driving to do, so I could use the music recommendations
If the past few local shows are any indication of what lies ahead we are in for a fantastic tour! Thank you to all of you who made last week’s shows so special – especially the fan who SANG EVERY WORD TO EVERY SONG at the NYC show on Saturday! Now that I am packed up and ready to go, I am positively giddy with anticipation… which leads me to my first road song…
“Escapade” – Janet Jackson
You know you love it.
Laura, I go to school in Burlington (caught your show at Radio Bean, loved it! We discussed Utica, NY), and the drive back and forth offers essential music listening time that I love. On one particular trip, traveling down I87 I had the ‘ol iPod on shuffle and the Allman Brother’s Band’s ‘Little Martha’ came on. It happened to be one particular busy area of I87, coming into Albany going through Saratoga Springs, NY and the song proved to be just prefect. The leaves were changing, it was a three lane road, cruising through the chaos that was I87 at the time, the tune made it seem a tad more calm than it was (may have put me in too calm of a mood!) and the setting could not have been better. It may be short, but it sure is a sweet one. So, I would recommend giving that one a listen and possibly adding it to your track listing!
Hope the rest of the tour goes well and all your travels are a safe one. Thanks for the music.
